Stawamus Chief

How to get there:
Take Highway 99 towards Squamish, stop at Shannon Falls to get to the trailhead.

This is a challenging 6 km trail, which involves a steep climb and is best undertaken during the week when it is not too busy. The Chief is the second largest outcropping of granite in the world. There are two peaks, with the second one about 165m higher. The view of Howe Sound is magnificent and will reward you for your efforts.

From there, there are three different summit trails, the main, the central and the south trails, which start behind the Chief, at the viewpoint north of Shannon Falls.
