The Lions
How to get there:
Follow Highway 99 to Lions Bay. Exit on Oceanview Road, turn left on Cross Creek Road, then right on Center Road and left again on Bayview and left on Mountain Drive. After 2km to will come to Sunset Drive, where one finds a small parking area. Parking at the trailhead is limited and weekends are busy.
The twin peaks, also called the Twin Sisters, are one of the best hikes on the North Shore. The hike is 15 km in length and will take about 7 hours to navigate. The peaks overlook Vancouver and present incredible views.
The twin peaks overlook Vancouver and offer views of Howe Sound and Lions Bay. It is one of the best hikes the North Shore has to offer. On your way up, take a break at Harvey Creek before continue your way to the top. Further along, you will meet up with the Howe Sound Crest Trail. Once you get to the top of the ridge you will see Unnecessary Mountain to the south and the West Lion above you. Going northeast, heading away from Unnecessary Mountain, you are almost there. Time for a well deserved lunch. Caution is advised: If you have your lunch on the rocks at the base of the East Lion be careful of the edge on the westside . The drop would be certain death. The incredible views will compensate you for your efforts.
