Hayward Lake

How to get there:
There are two ways to get to this hiking trail. Take the Lougheed Highway to Maple Ridge. Past Maple Ridge take the first road to your left, which is just before Stave River. A different approach is taking the Dewdney Trunk Road to the Stave Lake Dam. Watch for the sign, which says Hayward Lake.

Once you get to the parking area, you will be able to choose which trail around the lake you would like to take. Either trail is 10 km in length. The east side of the trail is designated for hikers; the west side is for hiking & biking. A point of interest of the east side trail is the floating walkway over Hairsine Inlet. If you include the Railway Trail, plan for a 6 hours plus hike. Both trails are considered an easy walk, offer many rest stops and are negotiable during all seasons. A point of interest of the east side trail is the floating walkway over Hairsine Inlet.
