Garibaldi Lake

How to get there:
Take Highway 99 to Squamish and follow the sign marked Garibaldi Park/Black Tusk. Turn right off the highway at Rubble Creek.

You will find the trailhead at the upper parking lot. The trail itself is 18 km long and will take approximately 6 hours to complete. The hike is a steady climb with a number of large switchbacks. About 2 hours into the hike you can start to see views of The Barrier. There is a short side trail to the right that brings you out into the open and onto some large boulders for a better view. This is a marvelous place to stop for a break and to enjoy the view. Along the way are white marker posts to keep you informed of your progress. Just past the 6 km. marker is the turnoff for Taylor Meadows and the campground. From here, it is another 3 km to Garibaldi Lake. As you wind your way around the lake, you shortly will see Lesser Garibaldi down below to the right. You will come to a junction where the trail goes off to Taylor Meadows or straight ahead to the lake. There is a shelter at the lake as well as a ranger station along with more campgrounds.

From there, there are three different summit trails, the main, the central and the south trails, which start behind the Chief, at the viewpoint north of Shannon Falls.
