Vancouver
English Bay Beach and Sunset Beach are right downtown, just south of Stanley Park.
Across the street from these beaches lies the most heavily populated corner of Canada
where sun worshippers can be found as early as March.
Further west, just across the Burrard bridge from downtown Vancouver, Kitsilano residents
enjoy their own neighborhood playground, Kitsilano Beach, which is part of a beloved
city park, with ponds and stately willow trees, and expansive lawns.Kitsilano Beach has
its own saltwater swimming pool where kids of all ages enjoy their summer.
The trio beaches of Jericho, Lacarno and Spanish Banks are located close to the
University of British Columbia and are the favorites of the university student population
and the twentysomething crowd. Spanish Banks Beach is a favorite for sunbathers and for
beachcombers after a storm. Parking for these three beaches can be found north of 4th
Avenue, or along Northwest Marine Drive, which follows the beaches around Point Grey.
Following the shoreline in a westerly direction, located close to the University, two of
Vancouver's (in)famous beaches awaiting the "adventurous". Here one finds Tower Beach,
which starts just around the corner from Spanish Banks. Clothing on Tower Beach is
optional along the natural cobble and rock beach. Further along, when mostly naked turns
to all naked , you have arrived at Vancouver's most "famous" Wreck Beach. At low tides it's
possible to walk all the way around Point Grey to Wreck Beach. The view of out over the
Straight of Georgia to the mountains of Vancouver Island is breathtaking. Find it down a long flight of cliffside steps off
Marine Drive, just west of the university.Parking is
available in the Spanish Banks Parking lot, along Northwest Marine Drive and head West
along the beach-side path.to access both beaches.

Greater Vancouver Area
Traveling south of Vancouver, towards the border of the United States, lies the small city of White Rock. The city is well known for its beaches of which Crescent Beach is the most popular. The sheltered, shallow waters of the Semiahmoo Bay make the beach the warmest ocean beach in Mainland British Columbia and ideal for swimming.
