An extensive trail system leads the visitor to scenic viewpoints, glaciers and lakes. The Floe Lake trail leads to the mountain lake where pieces of glacier float near the stunning backdrop of a sheer rock wall. From there a two hours hike leads to Stanley Glacier, which is just one trail of many, which is worth mentioning. The natural pools of Paint Pots, with their vivid orange color (formed by the iron in the water seeping into the clays of the region, is another. Among the numerous attractions that the park has to offer, you would not want to miss the limestone Marble Canyon or natural mineral pools at Radium Hot Springs or the Pictographs and ancient paint pots, which were used by the Kootenai Indians to decorate themselves and their teepees years ago. Hanging glaciers and breathtaking summits will make your visit an unforgettable experience. If you plan to stay for more than a day, there are several campgrounds located in several areas of the park. If you prefer to stay in more luxurious accommodations, Purcell Lodge, which is close by, will be your choice may it be either for your summer or winter enjoyment.
